Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked rajma kidney beans, drained and mashed
  • 1 cup besan gram flour
  • 4 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp red chili powder adjust to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp oil for the batter plus extra for greasing the waffle iron

Instructions

  • Preheat your waffle iron.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed rajma, besan, yogurt, chopped onion, tomato, cilantro, ginger-garlic paste, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add baking soda to the batter and mix until well combined.
  • Grease the waffle iron with a bit of oil.
  • Spoon the batter onto the preheated waffle iron, spreading it evenly.
  • Close the waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and crisp.
  • Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Serve the Rajma Waffles hot with your favorite chutney or yogurt on the side.
